Engaging Employees

Each new Active Teams challenge is an opportunity for you to encourage your colleagues onto a path towards better health and wellbeing.  Our challenges are:

  • Focused on encouraging less active employees
  • Usually monthly with a changing focus e.g. encouraging walking
  • Open to all employees
  • Usually incentivised with a prize draw to encourage less active employees.

Please use and share these details with your colleagues to help generate a bit of buzz. Try printing posters and leave them strategically positioned places around your workplace. 

September 25: September Reset

Challenge Description:

Recharge your energy. Reboot your routine. One mile at a time.

September is a time for fresh starts — a perfect moment to ease back into a routine that works for you. Whether you're back from a break, juggling work and life, or just ready to move a little more, September Reboot is your invitation to press reset.

🎯 The challenge: walk, run, swim or cycle one mile a day. A lunchtime stroll, a walk-and-talk with a colleague, a spin around the block - it all counts. This is about building habits, not pressure.

🏅 Complete 16 daily miles by the end of the month to enter our monthly prize draw for vouchers.

August 25: August Daze

Challenge Description:

Find your rhythm. Stay active. All summer long.

Busy month? Holiday plans? Family chaos? It’s still possible to carve out a little time for yourself - and keep your body moving while you're at it.

August Daze is your chance to stay active in a way that works for you. Score 15 active days this month - anything from a short walk to a swim, stretch, or dance counts. To score an active day, your activity just needs to last 15 minutes or more. That’s it. No pressure. Just progress. One move at a time.

August 25: The Summer Games 25

Note: This is a team challenge for August that you can enter teams for. We will also have a more standard challenge in July for individual employees.  

Challenge Description:

Get ready to bring the heat because The Summer Games are coming! 🔥🏆

This August, teams from different organisations and companies will battle it out in the ultimate friendly competition to see who can move the most and claim summer supremacy!

Your mission? Log as many minutes of activity as you can during August - every 10+ minute session you complete powers up your team's total. But here's where it gets exciting - the team of four colleagues with the highest total minutes by month's end doesn't just win... they become Summer Games Champions and take home the Summer Games Trophy!

Will your team rise to the challenge? There's only one way to find out!

July 25: Summer Strides

Challenge Description:

Moving regularly not only improves heart health but also reduces your risk of stroke and boosts your overall energy levels.

This July, aim for 700+ minutes of Summer Strides to keep you moving through the sunny season. Aiming for at least 150 minutes of walking or running each week can boost your mood, reduce stress and improve mental wellbeing.

Achieve or exceed 700 minutes of walking and running this July, and you could win one of four £20 gift vouchers! Achieve 800 minutes or more and you'll receive a second prize draw entry, increasing your chances of winning.

July 25: The Grand Tour 25

Note: This is a team challenge for July that you can enter teams for. We will also have a more standard challenge in July for individual employees.  

Challenge Description:

Join The Grand Tour – our Tour de France-themed cycling Super Challenge – kicking off on Saturday 5 July 2025!

Compete alongside teams from across the globe to ride as many miles as possible during the Tour de France, from Saturday, 5 July to Sunday, 27 July 2025. The team achieving the most miles will win the coveted Grand Tour Team Trophy. Track your progress live on our leaderboard, following every team and individual from the Grand Départ to the Champs-Élysées.

This year, we’re excited to open the challenge to all organisations and companies. If your company is an Active Teams member, you can enter your team of three colleagues for free. For external companies, entry is just £30 per team, with all proceeds going to support the mental health charity, Talk Club.

Prize Bonus: Any team member completing 75 miles during the challenge will be entered into our Yellow Jersey prize draw for a chance to win a £30 Decathlon voucher.

Whether you’re an Active Teams member or joining us for the first time, this is a fantastic way to get active, connect with colleagues, and support a great cause!

June 25: Jump 2 It

Challenge Description:

Get ready to move with our Jump 2 It challenge this June! ☀️ As summer approaches, it’s the perfect time to boost your activity and feel great every day.

Whether it’s a quick stretch, a walk around the block, or a full workout, every activity counts toward your total. Your goal? Rack up 25 activities of 15+ minutes duration this month to enter the prize draw. That's an average of one activity each day, but the goal is 25 activities in total, so you can score them on any days you like.

Keep an eye on the scoreboard and see who's moving to the top!

May 25: The Walk Stars

Challenge Description:

Let’s celebrate National Walking Month with an exciting new challenge! 🌸 As the flowers bloom and the days grow longer, May is the perfect time to lace up your shoes and step outside for some fresh air.

Whether it’s a stroll through your local park or a brisk walk to work, walking is not only great for your physical health but also an excellent way to clear your mind and boost your mood.

This May, your goal is to walk 25 miles or more! Hit the 25-mile goal, and you’ll go into a prize draw to win one of three £25 Decathlon vouchers.

Every mile you track counts towards your total, and every five miles earns you another 🚶‍♀️. Let’s get moving this May - one step at a time!

Challenge Description:

Spring has sprung, and it’s the perfect time to get those wheels turning! This April, we're setting you a thrilling challenge to cycle a total of 100 miles. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, this is your chance to push your limits and enjoy the outdoors.

Here’s how it works: Over the course of the month, track your cycling distance. Each ride brings you closer to the 100-mile mark. Reach or exceed this goal by April 30th, and you'll be entered into a prize draw for a £25 Alpkit voucher.

Challenge Description:

Regular physical activity not only improves cardiovascular health but also helps reduce the risk of stroke and manage weight effectively.

This February, aim for 600+ Minutes of Movement to make you HeartStrong. Achieving about 150 minutes per week can significantly lower the risk of heart disease.

Meet or exceed the 600+ minute goal and you could win one of two £25 gift vouchers! Every additional 100 minutes of activity earns you an extra entry in the prize draw, increasing your chances of winning.

Jan 25: Ignition 25

Reindeer Rumble

Tis the season to get active, and we're challenging you to give the gift of health and wellbeing to yourself with the Reindeer Rumble!

During December, each day that you hit a goal of one 20-minute activity will add one reindeer to your herd: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph. Achieve 12 days during December and you’ll add some extra special guests and complete the full set. You’ll also earn a place in our prize draw to win one of two £25 vouchers.

Balance & Breathe Live Beginners' Yoga

Join our fantastic Active Teams beginners' yoga class with Michaela, live every Tuesday lunchtime during November.

As the days grow shorter and darker, it's so important to keep on moving, both for the body and the mind. Yoga helps improve flexibility, strength and posture - especially important for any desk dwellers. Amongst many other benefits, Yoga also helps benefit circulation, reduces stress and helps provide mental clarity. Our classes are suitable for all levels including total beginners, and feel free to leave your camera on or off, whatever you prefer.

Greetings mortals! Prepare yourselves for a hair-raising, bone-chilling, pulse-pounding challenge that will have you moving like never before!

Your mission is to raise an army of monsters before midnight on Halloween. Each October day with a 20+ minute activity adds one recruit to your army. If you achieve 15 active days by the stroke of midnight on Halloween, you’ll survive and go into a prize draw to win a large Nutribox bursting with healthy snacks!
